The Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta is pleased to have you at this year’s meet. Our main goal is to give our gymnast a great weekend of competition. This will act as the coaches’ meeting, please refer to it for any questions you may have. We will have one coaches meeting at the start of each day. If you have attended that you will not need to come to any of the others.
Please understand it is your responsibility to go to the head table at the beginning of each session and sign your roster. You will also need to give us any scratches you have at that time. We will be using a card system for rotations. You may put your girls in any order but, please make sure you keep with the squad size on the rotation. Also, remember if the session is mixed, ex. 4 &5, all your 4’s need to go together and all your 5’s also. It does not matter which level goes first.
SCRATCHES and ROSTER VERIFICATION:
If you have a scratch the day of the meet you must let the head table in your gym know. You may place the card for the scratched gymnast in the scratch basket. It is also your responsibility to verify that your roster is correct and sign it. Rotations will be printed after scratches have been done, this way if we must make squad adjustments we can. It is very important that you come to the head table and verify your roster as soon as you get there. Rotations will be printed prior to introductions and may be picked up at the head table for your gym.
If you have a question about a score, please come to the head table and get a form. Please do not approach the judge directly. After you have filled the form out the meet referee will take it to the judge.
1. Each session will begin with a 20-minute general stretch.
2. As the 20 minutes get close to conclusion, rotations may be picked up at the head table and you can line up at your first event for introductions. After introductions Flight “A” athletes will proceed to their first event and begin timed warm-ups.
3. After flight “A” athletes finish timed warm up and begin competition. Flight “B” will begin their first timed warm up.
4. ALL ROTATIONS ARE CONTINUOUS, please be aware and move as soon as you can. Our timers will be there to keep things moving.
5. There will be a floor manager there to direct you as to bump ins. Please listen to them and they will keep the floor moving smoothly.
There will be a music representative from the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta in each gym on the floor. Please report to the music table as you go to floor and make sure she has your music. There will also be a music sheet at the head table for you to put your girls in order.
Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta will have a meet representative available if you need help adjusting the equipment. DO NOT MOVE THE MATS! IF YOU NEED SOMETHING PLEASE FIND MEET STAFF AND ASK PERMISSION PRIOR TO MOVING ANY MATS!
PT SOLUTIONS will be at the head table to evaluate any injuries or if you need ice or band-aides.
Gymnast restrooms will be located along the wall in gym “C”. PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE THE DESIGNATED RESTROOMS FOR THE GYMNAST. These bathrooms will be monitored per safe sport rules.
We are offering Coaches Hospitality for lunch and dinner in the form of boxed meals. We will not be serving breakfast. WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE NOT TAKE A MEAL UNLESS YOU ARE THERE FOR BACK-TO-BACK SESSIONS. We will have snacks, drinks, and water out for the entire weekend.
